one for the catalogue, ink from a few years back.....
this is ink on paper in a mini moleskine. drawn from an airline magazine i found on a flight back from chicago after my grandfathers' funeral. i wasn't allowed to sit with my wife and kids, and it was a pretty awful experience, drawing this was my coping mechanism. go figure.

oh my god! something new!
well, i know it's been awhile, but i'm starting back up again. for real, this time! i drew this yesterday at my docent training for the art in action program at my son's elementary school. i teach classes every couple weeks, and we have to get thru a yearly training where we learn the lessons first before we can teach them. i drew this with oil pastels on newspaper in between projects. what fun!

bubbles and feet.
so my digital camera pauses a moment before "snapping the shutter" as it were, removing you slightly from that perfect moment it's so easy to catch with something that responds right away. so it's nice when i get an image with the dc that catches a moment. this was at the harry potter book release party for deathly hallows. fynn was a little over a year old. nico was harry, i was a wandmaker, and kat was hermione on polyjuice potion. she ended up winning the costume contest.

clean skateshop show
i used this collage as a flyer for a show at clean skateshop in oakland the day before my birthday in 2006. i also put it in the show, which was made up of about 2 dozen holographic shadowboxes. i gave most of them away as christmas gifts, and kept a couple for our house. they're up on our mantle right now.
thank you notes

corner cup show
so i put up a show at the corner cup, and had a lot of fun. thanks everyone who came out to support! if you're reading this because you saw the show and are checking out the website, i know it's practically empty, but now that this latest show is up i'm going to be working hard to get this in order. check back in a week, you'll be glad you did.

fracture.
this is part of a photo collage project from about five years ago. all of the photos were printed with a liquid emulsion on a thick printing paper that i was really in love with at the time. i was big into tearing all the paper and attaching it to the wooden backgrounds with staples that i had lovingly rusted myself. good fun, huh? thanks, ben.
